4-strain acid-tolerant Lactobacillus formula — uniquely combined with NAC 10 mg to disrupt pathogenic biofilms and restore gastric microbiome in patients with PPI-induced hypochlorhydria.
Why Gastro Barrier works.
LorBiotics-GastroBarrier is a targeted synbiotic formula designed for patients with long-term PPI use and chronically low gastric acid (hypochlorhydria).
It helps restore the disrupted gastric and duodenal microbiome and reduces the risk of bacterial overgrowth, dysbiosis, and enteric infections.

How it works, step by step.
The documented biological pathway — exactly how each component acts inside the body.
N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC) acts as a potent mucolytic and antioxidant that breaks down pathogenic biofilms (especially relevant for H. pylori and SIBO), improves probiotic adhesion, and replenishes glutathione depleted by chronic inflammation.
By addressing the loss of the natural acid barrier caused by prolonged PPI therapy, GastroBarrier helps protect against Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO), H. pylori recurrence, and increased susceptibility to pathogens like Salmonella, Campylobacter, and C. difficile.
Lactobacillus rhamnosus and L. plantarum colonize the gastric and duodenal mucosa via mannose-specific adhesin (Msa) and mucus-binding proteins.
They produce lactic acid and bacteriocins that inhibit urease-producing bacteria, countering the elevated gastric pH seen in PPI users.
Their strong acid tolerance (survival at pH 2.5–3.5) enables effective colonization even in the altered gastric environment.
N-acetylcysteine (NAC) disrupts pathogenic biofilms (especially Helicobacter pylori and Enterobacteriaceae) by cleaving disulfide bonds with its thiol group.
This reduces bacterial adherence to the gastric epithelium and potentiates the action of co-administered probiotics.
Lactobacillus pentosus and L. delbrueckii further support recovery by producing riboflavin and short-chain fatty acids, which promote mucosal energy metabolism and barrier repair.
Every ingredient earns its place.
