CFU antibiotic-compatible spore probiotics + postbiotic + Selenium & Zinc for paediatric gut immunity

The science

Why Postbiotic + Zn works.

Lorbiotics-Postbiotic+Zn is an advanced paediatric synbiotic that integrates three key modalities of modern microbiome medicine - live probiotics, postbiotic bioactives, and essential trace minerals - into one comprehensive formula to support children’s gut and immune health from infancy through childhood.

Key Components & Benefits:

Multi-strain Probiotics: Five clinically relevant species — Bacillus coagulans, Bacillus clausii, Bifidobacterium lactis, Lactobacillus plantarum, and Lactobacillus reuteri — deliver broad-spectrum gut and immune support beyond single-strain probiotics.

Postbiotic Bioactives: Heat-inactivated components from Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium strains provide consistent, safe benefits without the risks of live bacteria in vulnerable infants. These supply pattern recognition receptor (PRR) stimulation via peptidoglycans and lipoteichoic acids, prebiotic-like exopolysaccharides, and short-chain fatty acids for immunomodulation and mucosal health.

Zinc + Selenium: Critical minerals for paediatric immunity and gut barrier function. Zinc supports T-cell maturation, intestinal alkaline phosphatase activity (LPS detoxification), and tight junction integrity. Selenium boosts glutathione peroxidase 4 (GPx4), protecting gut cells from oxidative damage and ferroptosis during inflammation.

Mechanism of action

How it works, step by step.

The documented biological pathway — exactly how each component acts inside the body.

01

Bacillus coagulans and Bacillus clausii are delivered as heat-stable spores that survive co-administration with antibiotics, fever-induced gut temperatures, and gastric acid — ensuring viable probiotic organisms reach the intestine precisely when needed most (during active infection, antibiotic use, or febrile illness). In the ileum, they germinate and produce bacteriocins and organic acids that competitively inhibit enteropathogens while stimulating secretory IgA via TLR-2/6 activation.

02

Lactobacillus reuteri produces reuterin and modulates the enteroendocrine system through serotonergic pathways, delivering targeted antimicrobial action and visceral comfort for common paediatric issues like colic, loose stools, and abdominal cramping linked to dysbiosis.

03

Bifidobacterium lactis and Lactobacillus plantarum work synergistically to provide colonisation resistance against Clostridium difficile and enteropathogenic E. coli — the leading paediatric enteric pathogens — via competitive exclusion, bacteriocin production, and intestinal tight-junction reinforcement.

04

Zinc boosts metallothionein expression in enterocytes, a cysteine-rich protein that chelates heavy metals, stabilises tight-junction zinc-finger structures, and offers direct cytoprotection during gastroenteritis and mucosal inflammation.
